Mua cá nục về làm sạch ruột cá, rửa sạch cá với 1 ít rượu trắng, để ráo. Bắt 1 cái chảo sạch lên bếp, đổ dầu ăn vào chiên vàng đều 2 bề mặt cá. Cá sau khi chiên vàng gấp để riêng ra dĩa.
Trong lúc chiên cá, lấy cà chua ra cắt bỏ cuốn, cắt hoặc bằm cà chua và để riêng.
Sau khi chiên cá xong, lấy 1 cái chảo mới, cho vào chảo 1 muỗng canh dầu ăn phi thơm tỏi + ớt. Tiếp theo, đổ cà chua vào, đảo đều tay cho cà chua chín mềm, cho vào sốt 1 ít nước để cà không bị cháy. Nêm mếm gia vị cho vừa ăn, kiểm tra thấy sốt cà chua đã nhừ, cho cá nục đã chiên vào trong chảo sốt cá. Lật cá nhẹ nhàng cho cá thấm nước sốt cà.
Tắt bếp, cho vào 1 muỗng cà phê bột ngọt. Hành lá cắt khúc 1 cm, cho vào chảo cá.
